Session Overview:

This presentation explores the human factors that shape aesthetic decision-making. Not the practitioner themselves making decisions, but the people who walk through your door and the complex motivations that guide them. We will examine the psychological drivers behind seeking treatment to better understand the “why” behind aesthetic choices.

Building on this, we’ll explore key patient archetypes, navigating what sort of goal/goals they are hoping to achieve with their decision to see a Practitioner. But the Big Five personality traits (OCEAN) are a key aspect of this presentation that creates a more nuanced understanding of each individual’s mindset.

Finally, the presentation will touch on the impact of Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), anxiety, and depression, and how awareness of these factors can help practitioners tailor their communication, expectations, and treatment approach with greater psychological insight.

By the end of this session, practitioners will have a deeper, evidence-based understanding of who their patients are, empowering them to consult not just clinically, but compassionately tailored to a patient's needs.
