Dr Catherine Fairris steps down, Dr Sophie Shotter appointed President

The British College of Aesthetic Medicine (BCAM) is proud to announce a change in leadership as Dr Catherine Fairris hands over the Presidency to Dr Sophie Shotter, effective 1 September 2025.
Dr Fairris has led BCAM with distinction, bringing passion, vision, and a strong focus on regulation and safety within the aesthetic medicine sector. Her dedication to advancing professional standards and supporting practitioners has strengthened the College’s role as the leading voice for safe and ethical aesthetic medicine in the UK.
“Dr Fairris has made an incredible contribution to BCAM during her tenure, shaping the College’s direction and ensuring that patient safety and regulatory excellence remain at the heart of our work,” said the BCAM Board of Trustees. “We are deeply grateful for her leadership.”
Taking up the role of President, Dr Sophie Shotter brings a wealth of clinical expertise, a proven track record in education, and a commitment to promoting best practice in aesthetic medicine. Her appointment marks an exciting new chapter for BCAM as the organisation continues to grow and champion high standards across the profession.
“We are delighted to welcome Dr Shotter as our new President,” the Board added. “Her energy, vision, and experience will guide BCAM into the future, and we look forward to the opportunities her leadership will bring.”
