BCAM Brunch Webinar -Understanding Mitochondrial DNA damage as a skin biomarker

Assessment for all memebers to complete

Understanding Mitochondrial DNA damage as a skin biomarker with Professor Mark Birch-Machin!

Session Overview:

The mitochondria are the batteries in our cells and as we age they become inefficient and show an increase in damage, eventually this downward trend leads to skin ageing. The webinar will look to educate and explain how external and internal stressors can increase damage to the mitochondria and therefore accelerate skin ageing. Conversely if these stressors can be managed through active interventions, the pace of skin ageing can be slowed.
